It’s interesting. But then you’re stuck in a proprietary pipeline. The whole point of aces is its standardization, it can work on any platform. I’ll take a versatile open pipeline any day, you can just as easily use aces with a resolve as you can with baselight, film master, nuke, ae, etc, etc.
That to me is the future, as much flexibility and interoperability as possible. Closed platforms, and pipelines aren’t cutting it anymore.

DNxHD doesn’t support non-HD resolutions. This is not viable, to finish at higher than HD res avid requires you to go dpx and an avid DS, or another finishing platform.

To answer your question, is there software to fill in the gaps, the answer is no. And duplicating frames probably isn’t a good approach. You’ll end up with stutterry playback. I’d say the shot is unusable unless its like a static shot where nothing happens.

The likeliest cause here isn’t a bad transfer but an ssd unable to keep up with the raw data rate. It’s really important with raw to get one of the approved SSDs. And I mean exactly one of the tested models, not one that is close to it. Lots of factors in getting sufficient performance from these devices.

No red gamma will not have same highlight detail. Think of red raw settings as if you were pre rendering that. What you want to start with is all available info.

1023 is the highest value possible in the internal davinci scopes. Representing 100% luminance. This gets adjusted to the appropriate level on output (ie video 960, or data 1024) but internally 100% is the brightest possible value.

It depends on your workflow and what you are trying to accomplish. I generally decide these things on a case by case basis.

Not in PRP that I know of. Smoke and other apps let you conform edls to DPX sequences. PrP does not to my knowledge.

There is a weird thing with Cacheing that happens in optimized mode. Optimized, not so optimized for render cache.
