If we grade the source R3D files in Resolve – not converting them to DPX – is there any point to use the Redlogfilm?
Or simply go with Redgamma, and it will have the same shadow/highlight information as redlogfilm has?

No red gamma will not have same highlight detail. Think of red raw settings as if you were pre rendering that. What you want to start with is all available info.

Thanks Juan for the fast reply. Set all footages to Redlogfilm, and applied a LUT on a node.
Hope this helps getting all the info:)
