Missing/Dropped Frames – Automator script or ideas to fill in gaps by duplicating other frames?
Hey everyone,
Been struggling to find a solution to a Blackmagic mag that captured footage with hundreds (thousands?) of dropped/missing frames. Davinci Resolve Lite takes forever to load these folders with the missing DNG files, and recognizes them as separate clips.
I’m OSX based, so in Finder I began scrolling to find the missing DNG files numerically, then would copy/paste/rename the preceding or following DNG to “fill in” the gap. However, after doing this about 100 times for one clip alone (have about 20 clips), I’m desperately looking for a better process.
What I’d like to do is find a solution to fill in the gaps, possibly using Automator. Because this will go to a post-house for color timing, ideally the DNG sequences on the RAW drives appear complete – then I’d create and edit with the proxies created thru Resolve, and conform/online once picture locked. Unfortunately, it seems that Resolve is the only way to handle the DNG sequences, and there doesn’t seem to be an option to “fill in gaps.”
An example of missing frames:
