I think this would really have to be priced on a case by case basis. Too many variable (source type, format rate conversion, frame rate issues, encoding quality) and the biggest factor from our perspective is setup. Takes us longer to do 5 15min encodes than 1 2.5 hour encode.
But anyone who needs to do a one off dts-ma file, or is in need of high end bluray authoring should feel free to contact me. (that’s not meant to be a plug, though I suppose it is)

Stereoscopic work is very complicated and difficult. I’d encourage you to find and read as much information as you can about how stereoscopic works. Given the way you’ve phrased your questions I don’t think you understand these. I hope that’s not offensive to you, but I don’t have the time to give a primer on stereoscopic.
I’d strongly encourage you to look into hiring someone with stereoscopic experience to help you with this project.
Goodluck to you. Sincerely.

April 26, 2012 at 2:53 am in reply to: Blackmagic Cinema Camera – edit workflow using 12 bit RAW CinemaDNGThe answer is no today for sure. When it’s released… Probably not. The camera comes with a resolve license, and the thinking is that you should use resolve to process dailies. So you would open the DNG files in resolve, render out with a lut for 709. Edit in your nle of choice, then recon form in resolve with the raw files, do your final grade. Then render out for delivery.
Could they make a plugin for direct support in fcpx? Probably. Will they? I dunno, don’t think you need it personally,

April 25, 2012 at 10:29 pm in reply to: DaVinci, Premiere Pro and the Nvidia GT 120 and the quadro 4000[Mel Feliciano] “What you and I want to know is if there is going to be any conflict with Premiere Pro not recognizing the quadro 4000 card because of the GT-120”
As I responded to Jose, the answer is yes. Premiere as of CS5.5 can only use the card the display is connected to for MPE. Resolve, can’t use the card the display is connected to for processing. So you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
The best solution is as Sascha proposed. Y-split for power, and a GTX470 + Quadro 4000, this would allow you to hve the quadro for MPE connected to monitor & the 470 unconnected to any display for DaVinci.

I have it, and use it as my primary grade monitor for 709. I love it, and the BT300 is also quite nice.
The only downside with the PVM is the limited viewing angle. I consider it strictly for operator use, a client would have a hard time looking at it and seeing an accurate image due to the narrow angle. But otherwise LOVE it.

Right. A scaled or moved image never looks good in FCP. Better to make it the size and position you want in photoshop.

Yes! This can be done. Just need to create two renders one left eye, one right. CS5.5 and higher has a stereoscopic camera which allows you to automate the convergence and ocular distance.

Are you scaling or moving the psd in fcp?

April 25, 2012 at 4:37 pm in reply to: Footage goes dark from AE to FCP, no option to change gamma level in fcpAre you changing codecs? How are you color managing in ae? Overall I don’t recommend using ae as a color correction tool, def not what it’s meant to do.
