Couldn’t agree more. Just wanted to throw my name to the list of frustrated shooters.

We just did some tests looking at a 26″ panasonic monitor. Visually could not tell the difference between 1080I and 720p. To my knowledge the camera does not do 1080P. It can shoot 24p over a 1080i recording.

yes I’m using it with dvcprohd footage captured over hdsdi through a knoa 2 card. I used the kona dvcprohd 720/59.94 setting with my camera as the playback source. I know this is by far not the best way to do things but it’s what I had at the time. I’m guessing this might be part of my problem? Thanks for your help.

August 23, 2005 at 2:00 pm in reply to: screwey capture…

Thanks for all the input guys. I’ll give it a try this evening and see what happens. I know that I’m adding another step of compression, just something I have to deal with for the time being. I’m not an edit house so right now it’s hard to justify a deck rental/ purchase just to play around with some stuff. Still much better than the transfers to dvcam/ firewire edit that I was doing…. This problem just seems a little odd to me, I have 150gb of footage that was captured this way with no problems. I am running the latest fcp5 and knona 2 drivers. anyways I will give all your suggestions a try and post the results. Thanks again.

Gary- I still haven’t finished reading all the responses to the cml question, seems like I opened up a big can of worms 🙂

Thanks for the response David. I’m capturing to a Lacie 500GB firewire 800 drive. I have plenty of other footage captured the same way to this drive with no problems. I still have 315GB available.

There is a way to mask them if I remember correctly. I can’t seem to find my paperwork on the process but perhaps someone else out in cow land has them handy. Sorry this isn’t more help.
