    I am definitely curious to see what is has to offer, especially for doc work and like you said as a second camera. I don’t really believe it will hurt the varicam much, probably mostly in the lower end independent film market. I think it will have a larger effect on the DV market. I will probably look at picking one up when they become available.

    I don’t believe there is a way to output the 4:3 marks from the camera, My panasonic 17″ monitor has 4:3 safe markers and the AJA down-converter I use also has the safe markers via the dip switches on the back of the unit. Hope this helps.
