David,
I’m running a 2×2.93 6-Core with Memory of 64 GB and recently experience a “out of Memory” issue
with a recent very complex (multi filtered and layered and AE constructed media) sequence.
I renamed the sequence, closed down AE, took all the unneeded files our of the bins, and eliminated
unneeded sequences.
And subsequently experience no other memory issues.
But you suggest that FCP may have an upgrade which will utilize more of your CPU’s available ram.
Do you see this upgrade being a “Software Update” I could add to my present application
(FCP 7) or do you see this as an entirely new FCP app and template.
I love 7, and have heard all the horror stories about 10.

Yes, a maintenance agreement.
Homeowners may cover it if stolen, or destroyed in a fire, or within the home,
but what happens if the camera gets hit on a shoot, on a location?
I could send it to repair, say though B&H where I bought it, what insurance
provider is going to cover that bill after the original 3-year coverage runs out?
It is a Sony product, I haven’t yet contacted Sony directly, and am not sure if
such coverage is available through them. -

I loaded in XDCAM Transfer v2.12 and also FAM driver Tool 2.3, but XDCAM Transfer is asking for
XDCAM Drive Software.
Isn’t that what FAM does?

I’m hearing some good things about the Nikkon 105 for a portrait-like
interview look. Any particular lense you know of which you might
recommend? Also, I thought a fast zoom would add some variety of
shots, (of course light would be a problem with the Letus attached),
any fast zooms that might work in coordination with the Ultimate?
