    Also, I hope I’m not being degrading here, make sure you’re setting your files to go to the raid storage, not the internal drives. On your system settings where you tell FCP where to put your project, it also lets you tell FCP where to put your wave files, Render files, etc…

    I see editors forgetting these settings a lot.

    You say you’re control clicking on the tracks tab. try control clicking on the logged clip itself.

    give this a try. create a new sequence, then go to the old sequence, edit, select all, copy it and paste it into the new sequence. this fixes a lot of problems. also make sure you don’t have a lot of seqences open, they take a lot of memory. and lastly, don’t have more than five firewire devices attached to you computer.

    If the mpeg2 files were made with QT then you can just import them or even drag and drop them into the browser.

    fcp captures audio on channels 1 & 2 by default. the settings must have been changed. go to systems setting, audio tab, and set the channels to 1 & 2. shut down and restart the program. this should solve the problem. let me know.
