Coming to the end of feature film edit and having playback issues. FCP 4.5HD Dual G5 2.7 CPUs w/ 3Gb Ram, Blackmagic Decklink Extreme Video.
While trying to play a sequence or lay off to tape the playback with stop at random and glitch. The problem is that we can not play through any one
entire sequence. The film is split into 7 squences/reels for better useability and editing offline at DvNtsc. Does anyone have insight to this issue?
Tried trashing prefs, Disk Uitlities, Canvas: Fit to Window, and a few other fixes. Nothing seems to work and this a top of the line FCP editing system minus the
version 5 upgrade. Has anyone experienced these playback failures before? If so, how did you fix them?

    Thanks

give this a try. create a new sequence, then go to the old sequence, edit, select all, copy it and paste it into the new sequence. this fixes a lot of problems. also make sure you don’t have a lot of seqences open, they take a lot of memory. and lastly, don’t have more than five firewire devices attached to you computer.
