For a pan you’re right, but for a really good zoom 150dpi is better. It won’t fit on the track complete but you can use the 72 dpi for the big picture and the 150 dpi for the zooms.

It sounds like your resolution is set at 72dpi. It looks good in normal mode but will get fuzzy or pixilate when zoomed in on.

Yes, you can. Just set the capture and sequence to the pal codec and have fun.

I know that QT 7 doesn’t work very well with OS X 3.9. If you can upgrade the OS and see if that doesn’t solve the problem.

Not to sound stupid or anything but when you open the capture window is the capture video box checked?

First question. After the re-install does FCP recognize the camera? And is the camera turned on before starting FCP? So, it was two questions.

From all indications it would be a very good choice to upgrade. However, I’ve been hearing that the latest FCP upgrade (5.0.3) is behaving badly, dropping frames and a bit jittery. So you might want to upgrade to 5.0.2 instead.

Oops. I see you’re using a PCI card. In this case when you strip two raids together you need to plug each into it’s own pci card. Walter Biscadi talks about this in an article he wrote. go to the creative cow home page click on his face. then scroll down to the article at the bottom of the page.
