FCP Quits
Hello again peop’s…gotta quick question for you. With the onset of FCP 5 and OS 10.4, are there still issues with FCP quitting suddenly as it was with OS 10.3.9 and FCP 4-4.5? Just curious as to whether or not uping to a new OS and FCP version will help this at all.

From all indications it would be a very good choice to upgrade. However, I’ve been hearing that the latest FCP upgrade (5.0.3) is behaving badly, dropping frames and a bit jittery. So you might want to upgrade to 5.0.2 instead.

On some systems, yes. On others, no improvements were made or realized.
There is no guarantee at all that new software will solve anything if you have hidden hardware issues. Some problems can only be cured with scorched earth reformatting and total rebuilds.
