Ask yourself why you need a mixing board. Are you laying in narration into your Avid or an audio program? Do you have multiple sources you want to get into your system? If you are just starting out, get something you’ll use the heck out of (memory, storage space, After Effects, a fancy edit chair). Then when you have the need, get a mixing board. Anything from Yamaha, Mackie, Behringer (among others) will work great.

I’ve not done this before, but the consensus seems to be Automatic Duck. Wes Plate (the developer) has a forum here on the COW, and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the software.

BTW, It probably would have been better to start a new thread rather than post on an old one. I would have never gone back to check something this old if I didn’t have email notification set up through the COW. You’ll get more responses that way…

Make sure the Mojo is the only thing plugged into the FW card. You’ll need to plug the FW drives into a seperate FW card on a different bus…

OK, exit Media Composer. If you are using one, connect it directly to the Mojo 4 pin firewire connection, if not into the CPU 6 pin firewire connection.
Turn ON the camera.
Open MC, and the project you are working in. Go to ‘setting>deck configuration’ in the main project bin. Select Sony, and PD150. Click ‘apply’ or OK (I’m not in front of an Avid right now…) Open your digitize tool. You should be able to control the deck.
Worst case scenario, just push play on the camera and hit record in the digitize tool…

…AND to add insult to injury, when you do get the correct OS and MC version, you’ll find Sorenson isn’t (AFAIK at this point) certified to run on Vista. Take a big magnet to your computer and install XP…

It depends on what ‘the latest’ XP upgrade is. 2.X is only certified for XP, SP2. Don’t compound your problems by upgrading to far.
Have you tried going straight into the Mojo? As I said before, that is the preferred method.

You probably can’t go any higher than 2.8 for free – I’m guessing 3.0 will cost about $50.00. It really is a good investment to go to 3.0, but 2.8 is a good upgrade. just go to https://www.avid.com/support/downloadcenter/upgradeOptions.asp and see what applies to you.
