I agree 100% with Bob, spend the money on a decent RAID controller card & stay away from Highpoint at all costs.

If you have the money to spend, the 1882 card is just a bit better, also if you want to upgrade your capacity later, going with say our IS316JS, 16 bay, the 1882 is the card you’d want to use with that product.

Unfortunately that product cannot be used in a JBOD, or “Just a bunch of Disks” configuration.

For $249.00 I doubt that mini-SAS card has any RAID capability, JBOD perhaps, but not RAID. What kind of card is it?
