    OK, you know your final screen aspect is 4:3.

    You’ll need at least two additional pieces of information about your final deliverables – pixel aspect ratio (does it match your footage?) and final resolution.

    If pixel aspect matches, I would be tempted to make my sequence in the final resolution/aspect ratio, and edit from there. I would pan and zoom shots as required to get the finished look.

    I imagine others will chime in and offer optional workflows.

    I’m afraid I must repeat what many have said before me; that is to suggest you roll back to an earlier build of the Adobe software. Based on my reading, to say 2017 is “not ready for primetime” would be an understatement.

    I’ve concluded I do not want to touch a CC upgrade until it is released as at least dot 2, if not dot 3.

    Sure does. Make a 1080/29.97 timeline and bring in your footage. You can bring it out full frame easily, or be “zoomed in”. You can also keyframe zooms in and out. Easy as pie.

    Been using both Middle Atlantic and Winsted for years. I like them all but particularly the Middle Atlantic. Just be aware if you get flooded, it will not survive, and you will have to replace it, even if it just a couple of inches of water.

    And yes, you can easily guess how I know that.

    Depends on which app you are more likely to use it. It takes a good amount of render time either way.

    There isn’t a limit I am aware of. But. . . days?? I think any rendering limit will be the least of your issues.

    Are you importing via the Media Browser in Premiere Pro, or using the Windows CTRL+I?

    Are you making a complete copy of the full file structure of your original media onto your media drives?

    If not, I suggest a full copy, including all folder structure, and using Media Browser for media import.

    What Daniel said. Don’t rush to anyone’s dot-zero release anymore. More and more frequently we are all the last round of Beta testers now, and not just for Adobe’s products.

    My experience matches what Daniel describes. We didn’t go from 2014 to 2015 until the dot 3 version was released. Wouldn’t touch 2017 until dot 2 or dot 3 either.

    Let someone else find the issues.

    I usually manually make three or four moves and save them as presets. Then drag and drop to taste.
