RED 5K at a 4/3 ratio
Hey all,
I am just about to dive into my latest project and it’s final output will be in 4/3. We shot the film in RED %K at a resolution of 4800×2700.
How do I proceed to edit in that AR?
Do I have to edit in the correct AR or should I just edit and once I have my final cut, simply modify the sequence setting and pan/crop to fit the intended ratio?

OK, you know your final screen aspect is 4:3.
You’ll need at least two additional pieces of information about your final deliverables – pixel aspect ratio (does it match your footage?) and final resolution.
If pixel aspect matches, I would be tempted to make my sequence in the final resolution/aspect ratio, and edit from there. I would pan and zoom shots as required to get the finished look.
I imagine others will chime in and offer optional workflows.

Well I don’t think that the PAR will change and would leave at the native square for now.
Final resolution is 4k at 4/3 AR so 3840×2160. If I input that resolution into the sequence setting the only thing that Premiere seems to do is crop and zoom in the image, the preview windows and the preview itself is still in 16/9
