Is any of your drone footage VFR (variable frame rate)? Premiere Pro needs CFR (constant frame rate) footage.

You can convert VFR to CFR using Handbrake. It’s free. (handbrake.fr)

Tell us about the file type/codec you are looking to view. If you are just viewing, VLC Media Player may be all you need. You may need to install a codec in order for it to see your video if it is something not usually installed on your typical computer.

Answered! Incorrect audio device class. Once I changed it from ASIO to MME, everything was normal.

Much depends upon specifics. The specs of the edit system, footage resolution and codecs, etc.

It isn’t difficult at all to work up a timeline that won’t play back in real time. Certain effects or filters can be very processor-intensive.

Once again, though, without particulars and specific examples, we can only speak in generalities.

That is weird. I’d start with a save, exit, reboot, restart. WIthout knowing more about your system, can’t carry it much farther than that.

I haven’t tried this myself, so this is not a recommendation or endorsement.

You may want to research Wondershare Filmora. It’s free, and they have Windows and Mac versions. Here’s a link to a video about it.

I am guessing – you are trying to make use of drives you already have. You want to avoid spending money on new drives.

But eight drives? Even if you have a big enough box, you are going to produce an impressive amount of heat, and tax your power supply, more than likely.

I’d put four drives together for projects/media in RAID5. If you lose a drive, you can replace and the array will rebuild. No data loss.

But even then, you need a workstation with a solid power supply/internal infrastructure to start building up something like this.

You can also convert to constant bit rate with Handbrake, which is free, and handy to have.

Filmic Pro is an iPhone app that records constant bit rate. A must if you will be using an iPhone to shoot.

You may have to start with smaller images to do it in a Premiere timeline. That raster size is a bit heavy for Premiere Pro. You will likely have better luck in After Effects, but your RAM is a little low.

Try rendering some moves in After effects, then you can bring those clips into Premiere Pro and edit normally.
