WHOLE Computer is crashing when trying to export
Posted by Jesse Fernandez on August 11, 2017 at 3:32 pmI built a new computer and tried to export a project and multiple times it has frozen the whole computer. Even leaving it for an hour or so it does not fix itself. Have had to hard reboot it each time. Granted I am asking a lot of it but an older computer has done a similar project without crashing.
I am trying to export to an MPeg-2-DVD format at typical NTSC settings.
Any help would be much appreciated!

August 11, 2017 at 5:50 pmIt Might . The Computer Specs are:
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core 3.2 GHz
GeForce GTX 1050ti
16GB of RAM
Windows 10Thought it should be more than enough but shrug. First time using AMD processors. Maybe its just not strong enough.

August 11, 2017 at 5:56 pmWhat format are the source files? What are the sequence settings? What are your exact export settings?

August 11, 2017 at 6:26 pmThe files are 1440×1080 m2ts, avc format and I am exporting to format: MPEG-2-DVD / 16:9 / 720×480 / 29.97 m2v and wav audio file
Sequence settings I have tried matching the source and exporting to MPEG-2-DVD as well as having the sequence settings be 720×480 16:9, scaling to frame size rendering then exporting. They both yielded the same results, computer crashed.

August 11, 2017 at 6:29 pmMaybe so, however it does everything else fine. I can play games, rip DVDs, stream and whatever else. Also not sure what I could do wrong that would ONLY affect premiere

August 11, 2017 at 6:59 pmAre you able to render to anything other than the MPEG-2? Say DNxHD or H264?

August 11, 2017 at 7:11 pmYeah I have exported out into a few different formats that work just fine (H.264/AVI and such) but to be fair none of them have been as intensive as the current project.

August 11, 2017 at 7:14 pmLet us know what version of the Adobe suite you are using, and tell us more about your storage, including what is running from what drive, and what is rendering to what drive.
System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5

August 11, 2017 at 7:31 pmVersion of Premiere: 2017.1.2 11.1.2 (22) Build
Storage is 2 WD hard drives. A 2TB that is my main drive and a 3TB that is primarily a storage drive. Premiere is running off of the 2TB and its pulling the videos from the 3TB. And I export to the 3TB. I have tried exporting to the main 2TB and it still crashed. Also the cache files are set to save with the project so it saves in the 3TB.
