Just in case – you want to be running Windows 10 (if you’re on a Windows machine) if you’re going to 2019. Adobe dropped support for Win7/8 with that version.

I have routinely waited until at xx.2 or xx.3 update (not xx.0.2 or xx.0.3) before transitioning to a new update. I want to edit, not function as a beta tester.

Not a Mac user here. I can only guess the file types were not the same. iDVD recognizes her file type, but not your file type. Not all apps are universal regarding what they will accept.

We need more info on each system (hardware like RAM, processor, etc.) before we can hazard a guess. How is your SSD connected to the laptop? Also, what wrapper/codec is timeline footage and renders?

What are you playing back with? Computer, OS, storage specifics, version of Adobe, app you play renders with, etc.?

Hundreds of hours of footage and hundreds of sequences is more likely the reason your project file is so big, as opposed to Warp Stabilize.
I routinely render my Warp Stabilized shots and save the stabilized versions as subclips. A couple of extra steps, but it has served me well.

Yes, tell us a lot more, like the version of the software you are using, your storage, your OS and PC specs etcetera.

What Tero said. You can write 1280×720 files to a DVD as a DATA DVD, but not as a video standard DVD that will play in a DVD player.
This presumes you are in fact speaking specifically about DVD’s and not speaking generically, but actually meaning to reference Blu-Ray discs.
