  • Vector image shows like a pixelated image in Premiere Pro

    Hello everyone

I am using Premiere Pro 2017, and I am trying to import a logo file in .ai (vectorized image) format into Premiere Pro, and when I try to scale the image to a smaller size, it starts to show the awful pixels.

I have tried using png format, as well as PSD and .ia (illustrator) format, the result is always the same.

Please check the images, as you can see the logo icon is pixelated.

Unfortunately Premiere rasterises vector files so there’s no way of taking advantage of Illustrator or EPS vectors to keep things clean and sharp.

The best way of handling your scaling issue is to make the image the right size (or close enough) in Photoshop rather than letting Premiere do the scaling. You will get a much better result and you can even chose your scaling algorithm for best results.

You can also do your move in After Effects with “continuous rasterize” on.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.
