  • When it is a “less than ideal” green screen comp, I still prefer to do those in After Effects and render them out. I know Ultra Key is available for the timeline and does a great job for many keys. But, for me, taking the time in AE still gets the best results.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

What are the settings for your YT renders? Bandwidth may be too low.

  • I have found this isn’t the issue it used to be back in the SD days. I use Action Safe across the board now, including titles. The transition to true flat screen tech in modern sets basically eliminates the masking/scan issues manufacturers had with tube TV’s.

What connection type? How much available storage?

And the dirty little secret of miniDV – are these tapes recorded at LP speed? If so, is this the cam they were recorded with? If not, they may not play back properly no matter what you do. LP often will only play back clean on the unit it was recorded with.

  • What other changes have occurred during that time? Updates to Adobe version? Hardware changes? Have any drivers been updated? Same computer? Same storage?

You might try opening PPro without your preferences. I think if you hold Shift+ALT while it is opening until the logo art disappears from the screen that gets it done.

May not fix it, but worth a try.

Kyle, we need a lot more information to start. Take a look at my signature; it’ll clue you in on information folks will need to help with this.

I encourage you to take your info and put it in your signature. CS6 is fading fast in the rear view mirror. You may find yourself with greater and greater challenges in the near future.

BTW, if you were using dynamic linking in CS6 between PPro and AE – man, you are brave. It works – until it doesn’t.

  • We need all the usual information. Computer, OS, RAM, storage, Adobe version, file types and codecs, any recent changes/upgrades to hardware or software.

Check my signature. I put all the info there so it is available every tine I post.
