Major problem. Video out of sync on laptop only. Fine on desktop
hello,
this has been baffling me all day. I started a project on my desktop pc. Edited part of it. It Plays Fine on desktop. The project and media files are all on an external ssd. I went away from my main studio for a few days. I hitched up the external ssd to my laptop. Both desktop and laptop are windows 10 pro version. All the same version of premiere. 2018. On my laptop in premiere one section is out of sync with the video. No marker indicator it’s out of sync. It’s also out of sync in the source window But it’s not out of sync if I play the video file directly in VLC, windows media player etc. only out of sync in premiere. I then didn’t save the file and when I returned back to my main studio and plugged in the external ssd to my desktop all of the sudden the part that’s out of sync on my laptop is perfectly In sync on the desktop. What is going on?
I need my laptop from time to time to edit when I’m not at main studio.

We need more info on each system (hardware like RAM, processor, etc.) before we can hazard a guess. How is your SSD connected to the laptop? Also, what wrapper/codec is timeline footage and renders?

The SSD external on the laptop is plugged in via USB C which also has a cable to convert USB C to USB 3 since my desktop doesn’t have USB C port. Both laptop and desktop are windows 10 pro 64 bit machines.
says video previews on both machines are AVC-Intra Class100 1080p in the sequence settings.
