I scrub plenty. Animation Codec is preferred by most editors as a lossless quality codec.
I’d say that the QT update has screwed up something in the preferences and you may need to uninstall the QT you have, make sure to reboot.
Then install 7.6.5 (I’ve double checked that this is the one I’m running.) Then reboot.
Now launch PPro and hold down the SHIFT+ALT+CTRL keys while it loads all the plugins etc. Wait until you see the New or Open splash window. Let go of the keys.
Start a new project and import the one you have had issues with. Import the entire project and it will import with a folder named the projects name. Open this folder and find the seq you were working on. It should work fine. If not, you’ll have to do a complete reinstall of PPro…

Pentium m. Sounds like u need an updated system anyway. I can’t see that chip being enough for hdv even if u had the right codec.
I have a mac and PC setup. Both with cs4 and fcp on the mac. Tools for the trade. Some jobs work better in each system. But having the mac came from necessity of clients demanding fcp or suppliying fcp captures clips. I still prefer to cut with ppro.
I guess Its about budget a the end of the day. PC can come in well under budget compared to mac. Doesn’t mean there are less issues with a mac or fcp, just different ones.

Did u possibly update something else since it last worked?
What happens if u start another project and import the clips? If it works in a new one I’d import the old project into the new one and open the folder it imports to and open the sequence of the edit.
can u go back a couple of days on your system? Restore point? As a last resort to get it finished u can change the vob extension to mpg and relink that way.

It appears your system maybe a little older. Is it at least a core 2 duo? Quad core would be best. 2gig of ram bare minimum 4gig would be better.
Have u tried to set the playback quality to draft? Does it help?
The media files should be on a seperate drive to the os. Preferably a 7200rpm at least, but a raid 0 or 5 is recommended.

Did u try to export the mp3 file as a WAV file from soundbooth? I can see the length of the audio file to be the reason I’d say it has something to do with the mp3 files compression settings. Converting it to an uncompressed audio file will solve it.

Try resetting prefs by holding alt shift ctrl while ppro launches until the splash screen appears.

Try clearing the preferences of ppro by holding down alt shift ctrl all together while ppro launches. It reloads all plugins fresh and resets the preferences. Don’t let go of the buttons until u see the splash screen where it asks u to make new or open a project.
Otherwise you may have an incompatible update on the graphics card. The newest card drivers aren’t always the happiest with ppro.
I am running win7 64 with QT7.4.5 and don’t upgrade it as it works perfectly. Ain’t broke don’t fix it policy with QT is a must.

a rep from there has mentioned this in many other mac files on PC codec posts.
Basically fcp doesn’t like to play with PC other than with dv or prores. And then the prores route only reads and might not be realtime on moderate pcs.

Yep it works. U need to make sure ur media is PC friendly. Hdv or dvcprohd captures in fcp are fcp only. Prores has a decoder for PC plugin. So dv or prores captures are fine to reconnect to.
The seq and edits will come into PC from fcp XML file.
