A combination of project bin structures and metadata. Embed in description details shot type etc. Have multiple clips selected and add metadata across all of them at once for multiple location or shot type etc. The search bar in project panel picks up on all metadata it’s pretty cool once you work it out.

Only ever trust the monitor you will be screening on at the end. As a general rule though a calibrted CRT or properly connected plasma against the colour bars from the app you are working in is the way to go.

1st try to open the Jpegs in Photoshop and save as PNG. then in the ppro project replace them for where the jpegs are in the time line. Best way is to import the png files. Grab one and hold alt key while you drag n drop over the appropriate jpeg in the timeline, repeat this DnD with alt key for second clip.
when High res Jpeg images report errors during render it means they won’t export either.
2nd thing to do if above didn’t resolve issue… Reduce the Jpeg dimensions to best resemble your needs (if you zoom a little make the dimensions fit enough bigger than the timeline dimensions) and have the dpi at 72 not 300. 😉

Hi Bart,
cs4 can work with the ex footage and export it without any other support.
When shooting fast action like sports it’s generally considered beat
practice to shoot in an interlaced format as progressive tends to lose detail in the action and can strobe or stutter.
What are you going out to for the final product? DVD, TV …?

I am not able to confirm this with experience but I have read some time ago that the folder structure of P2, mxf, (folder structure based) recording formats are locked and don’t allow for file writing = no ability to use the transcribe function.
Switch the folder and file permissions and it should allow it.

The source shoes the clip in it’s original frame, resolution, etc. The program monitor is showing the dimensions of the timeeline. If there is a mismatch the program will look different. Also be sure they are both set to high quality preview (right click the panel).

CS4 introduced the select clip/s in premiere timeline right click and replace with after effects comp. It adds the clip/s to ae for you replacing the point in the edit the clips were the comp is set to the clips
dimensions and edited length from it’s usenin ppro timeline.Much easier than CS3 days.
