    Hi Guys

Okey, so I’ve been given three Sony Sony PMW EX1 cams for shooting a big event in the Netherlands with a crew. Now, because these are quite new to me and by reading all post in the archive i need advice.

Can I import , edit and export them in Premiere pro CS4. I heart import was no problem, but export needed MainConcept pro. I don’t have this, nor the budget to buy it. Is there a possible way to export the footage?

Second, because it’s a sporting event. What settings shall i shoot, just the full HD 25p setting?

    Let me know!

    Hi Bart,
cs4 can work with the ex footage and export it without any other support.
When shooting fast action like sports it’s generally considered beat
practice to shoot in an interlaced format as progressive tends to lose detail in the action and can strobe or stutter.
What are you going out to for the final product? DVD, TV …?

    Hi Jon

Thank you for you quick response. That’s fantastic that it works on Premiere CS4 without problems, cool!
We are shooting the “Batavierenrace”, the biggest student team marathon/relay along Europe (and mayby World) from Nijmegen to Enschede. (https://www.batavierenrace.nl/en/the-race/)

We’re gonna shoot live on AIR for our Television Channel at the start and finish. In between a camera men on a motorcycle will shoot. The Radio channel will also make live commentairy. Our live director setup unfortunatly doesn’t support native for these cams (abit outdated allready), and the images will be downsampled from HD, but the footage will also be used to make a few compilations, trailers etc for the web in HD.

Thank your for the interlacing tip 🙂

    Greetings,

    Bart
