Can you clarify the problem.

Have you captured the clip and it just didn’t show in the project panel, or won’t it capture?

Your previous post had me thinking you got the clip in…

Not sure why it would capture and not add to the project panel. Main thing is you are working.

I am going to guess you updated Lion with a preinstalled version of PPro.

You might need to re-run the install process to get all codecs working again. Lion’s quicktime might have dislodged something in the MPEG importer.

Are you using CUDA acceleration? If so switch it back to Software only mode. Some cases the CUDA Hardware accleration, especially on cards not officially supported but not exclusively, can show this bug.

Let us know with a test render.

Try these settings, the red box indicates settings I manually set up myself. Including the Frame Dimensions, you can reenter them and unlock the aspect ratio link.

To access the other codecs using quicktime look in the video tab. There are heaps inside a dropdown list!

Try repairing disk permissions.

If that doesn’t sort it. Run an uninstall and use te cleaner tool from adobe site to remove all files and reinstall.

Hopefully the disk permission repair does the trick.

Hi Jim,

Not sure why you are having issues with you H.264 playback in CS5.5

I work with these files across both Windows and Mac and haven’t seen the issue you speak of.

I think there may be some issues with installing CS5.5 over CS5. So CS5 and any other older versions are recommended to be removed completely from the system with the Clean Tools on the Adobe site.

Read the instructions carefully 🙂

Also there seems to be a Mac issue with Disk Permissions and such so running the Disk management app to make sure everything is working properly is another area to look at.
