  • Adobe Premiere last clip on xha1 tape doesn’t capture

Posted by Tom Simone on August 10, 2011 at 6:20 pm

    Hello,

    Just started using Premiere.

When I capture a tape from a my Canon XHA1 the last clip doesn’t capture, or if it does I’m not sure where it is.

I have Scene Detect selected and all the other scenes/clips capture fine.

I pressed Tape to capture the entire tape.

I think when Scene Detect isn’t selected it doesn’t capture anything, but I need to double check this.

    Any help appreciated,

    Tom

I’ve just checked and the last clip on the tape does appear in the scratch folder, but not in the Adobe Premiere’s project tab, where the rest of the clips are.

Anyone any ideas why that would be?

    Can you clarify the problem.

Have you captured the clip and it just didn’t show in the project panel, or won’t it capture?

Your previous post had me thinking you got the clip in…

Not sure why it would capture and not add to the project panel. Main thing is you are working.

    Hiya,

The last clip on the tape captures, but doesn’t appear in the project panel.

Not that big a problem as far as things go, but a bit frustrating with lots of tapes to get through.

I’ve just got one on the go now actually, so I’ll see how that goes.

    Ok, figured something –

If I press stop to stop the capture process it asks me if I want to save the clip, then it appears in the project panel.

If I just let the whole tape run to the end, then close the capture window, the last clip is missing from the project panel.

Apologies if this sounds a bit dumb, I’ve only just started using Premiere.

Yes, that’s what’s happening I think. I just tested that. A stupid thing to happen. So you must press Stop before closing the capture window in order not to lose the last clip.

    I’m using Premiere CS5.5.
