Calculations effect wad the old one. But yeah that would work too.
Be aware that if you scale te clip the composite won’t adjust with it.
You would need to nest it and scale the nest.

Hi Rob,
I did do some testing with the footage but I can see that because there is so much movement at a long zoom amount the compression of what was recorded has got it’s own waving quality to it and “lag” so when the shutter roll issue is addressed the compression “lag” is not moving pixels into the correct position. And as a result I couldn’t get it to be any better than what you have already produced.
I used Mocha to simply stabilize and it clearly showed me there was more than just a wobble in the vertical appearance of the curtains the compression “lag” was very evident.
I would suggest that this one goes down as a learning experience whereby a zoomed in shot MUST be on a tripod. The kinds of shots that work amazingly well for the warp stabilizer won’t replace a tripod look from hand held use at zoom. When the shot is at wide and handheld there is less movement in the shutter roll and the compression is able to keep up. A pan, dolly or tilt would have been ok but this footage is not workable to remove the compression behaviour.
Sorry to bring you such news, but at least you know now to use a tripod where possible.

Sounds like a corrupt installation of it.
I would suggest you deactivate CS5 via a launched app. Uninstall CS5. Run the Adobe Cleaner Tool (downloadable online) to perhaps uninstall and deactivate CS5 and CS5.5 together. It will remove all the relevant files and registries.
Then reboot and install CS5.5
I have done this many times across Mac systems and it is the best way to remove older versions and install new ones. 🙂

Instead of duplicating an instance if a clip and having to group them for editing, transitions require workflow differences there an effect called “solid composite” that can apply this look and stay as a single clip. It is is PPro and AE.

Could be a mouse issue. Not to say the mouse is wrong hut the driver and PPro may be having odd clicking messages.
Does it work properly with another mouse/pointing device?
Let us know and file a bug report with Adobe.

There could be an issue related to having CS5 and CS5.5 on the same machine.
Go to the Disk Permissions and repair them to see if that makes any difference.

If the crop amount is the same across all you can add it to one clip. Then select the crop effect. Copy. Select all the other clips in the timeline you want to take the crop effect. paste.

Hi Tom,
I tend to “build” my own transitions for in and out with a series of effects that I select, hold control on pc or cmd on mac to multiple select. Then right click to create a preset which can be named and associated with the scale, in or out point.
DVD and bluray authoring is handled with encore. It’s a separate app but included in the PPro install. You can dynamic link to encore and send the seq directly there or export to DVD or BluRay spec and import that to a new encore project.

Clearly an interlace issue that is stripping one of the fields out.
How are you exporting to see this?
Are you seeing this in the Video panel of AE prior to exporting?
