It all depends on what you want to do with the export? Edit, Archive, Upload to web, phone, Kine to Film, DVD, Blu-Ray, DigiBeta, HD tape, HDV. Please be specific about what you are working in and then what you want to use it as in the final product. Are you NTSC PAL, SD, HD, HDV, P2, SONY XDCAM. Seriously, this is why there are so many formats.

As the quickest potential fix. Start another Project… Import the project into the new one. Try that.
I know that a Matrox Hardware Setup can still offer the options to use Matrox for export even if the project is not a Matrox based project (software presets only). This will do nothing when you select the export via Matrox options. Hope this helps.

Is your master audio track Stereo too? If that is set to 5.1 then everything is being output to 5.1 same as if its set to Mono, the project is then outputting to MOno despite the audio you are using it all outputs based on the type of Master Audio Track. Make sure that is the same in the Project with Edit 1 & 2 and the 3 & 4. There will be a difference somewhere. Maybe the settings in export are different, unless you are using a preset you’ve made.

Use AE for the remapping if you aren’t getting it in PPro. You are limited to the frame rate of the project properties an NTSC is 29.97 PAL is 25 that will be the best of what you can capture using any screen recording software because that’s what the software is showing.

Sounds like your interlading is the wrong way around. Make sure you have a matching upper/lower odd/even in the DVD exporting settings than it is in the PPro project.

You will need to work with AAF exporting/importing. Offline version of workflow will need to be pretty much cuts. Fades might come through, but safer to get a cut based edit and AAF that. Using the Opacity and Audio Levels fades will come through. Keep the cutting to single video layer as much as possible. You can use more, but be sparing. Don’t know how the OMF style of capture works with Avid then being used with PPro (uses avi/mov). Need to look at that a little more. Good Luck.

You can thank Apple for creating ProRes. It’s only a Mac codec. You can only use files made with the codec (default for HDV and HD in FCP) if you have FCP on a Mac with v.6 and the ProRes codec, with PProCS3 on that same Mac.

Render out the After Effects Comps and replace them in the timeline in PPro. Dynamic Link works for simple Comps that help you with timing and continue editing.
Are you rendering to a QT format? The version of QT makes a difference here. 7.4.1 had major bugs that would not allow Adobe software even AE to render out – error only showed at the end of render bar. !!! Either roll back to 7.3.1 or go upto 7.5.
You can use Adobe Media Encoder to export as well there are heaps of formats and commonly used presets for them. Get familiar with this way of exporting and you’ll hardly ever use File>Export>Movie again.
– I’d Delete the Renders from the Sequence too. In Project>Remove unused. Save. Reopen this project – the RAM should be less. If you replace the AE Comps with Rendered clips that will make a massive difference to your export speed and stability (RAM is the crahsing culprit).

It helps if you state your version of premiere pro. CS3 has a superior file replace system to even FCP! OMG! If you understand it you’ll have no issues. You must be conscious of the matching frame from the clip you have in the source and the one in the timeline. You then replace the clip by right clicking on the timeline clip and select replace match frame. Any effects, animations you have on the original clip in the timeline will now have those attributes too. Obviously you need to import the replacement clips and then replace them manually one at a time.
If the updated clips are exactly the same length and there are no timecode differences to the originals then you can offline them in the project panel and relink them to the updated versions. All uses of the clips in any timeline sequence will be updated.
