You can export each audio layer from start to finish, each clip should end up the same size and length. Audio aint so hungry for MBs so it’s not so bad. Keep the files as WAVs or AIFFs.

Make sure you have a graphics card with GPU, and set the GPU in Playback Settings.

I’m having the same issue, its the codecs from Apple. Unless it’s DV it will captured in the Apple Intermediate. Sorry there is no way to convert I know of on a PC. It has to be done from a Mac with FCP using Media Manager to convert to Say Animation codec or JPEG2000 to keep quality, sizes jump heaps. HDV is probably the worst size wise because FCP doesn’t work in muxed MPEG like PC does.

click the shevron, it looks like two triangle type arrows in a circle. that should open up the timeline for working with the keyframes of the effect controls.

Harm, with all due respect. This bloke obviously isn’t savvy to screen resolutions and has assumed that 50% of his HD Frame would be SD. 540 with a 1.33 PAR is bogus. It’s not a proper aspect ratio, he may aswell use 50% in Sq Pxl PAR (860×540). 720×540 is just confusing. This guy probably would do best to use the AME PAL Widescreen Preset – and he probably didn’t know of it.
I’m not having a go at you, but telling someone to use an anamorphic widescreen SD res in width and not correct them with the standard format for downconverting for client preview for DVD (which I know all clients want to play on DVD or Computer) sends a confused message. There are too many fresh from film school filmmakers that don’t know about standard settings. 540 is not a “standard” anywhere. The 1.33 PAR is for HDV not DV res in a standard workflow.
I just want to avoid the next post about why his 540 line file won’t work in Encore to make his final DVD.

If the computer is connected to a VTR with PPro looking at it while playing the timeline that will cause the jump. Simply stop the app looking at the VTR in the Playback Options. Right click the Program Monitor>Playback…

C’mon Harm you use PAL, where are you getting 720x540?
That’s not a recognized frame size format, it won’t be imported into a DVD Authoring App.
720×576 (1.422 – PAL Widescreen) PAR. or 1024×576 Sq Pixel

take 16:9 ratio = 16 parts wide and 9 parts high
width:height
Eg: 480 wide / 16 parts = 30 (1 unit)
30 x 9 parts = 270 (height)
therefore 480×270 = 16:9 square pixel aspect ratiotake height and divide by 9, then multiply by 16 to get the widescreen version of that frame size.

How long is the edit? Uncompressed AVI might come upto this size as it runs at about 1.5Gig a minute.

1. Is this a legit version of the program?
2. How are you capturing? with Premiere?…something else?
3. Why are you importing it if you are capturing with Premiere?
4. 10minute video is not that big, should import immediately after capture – is there a bar loading in the bottom right? that’s the indexing of the clip.
5. what speed cpu have you got? that might be indexing like mad if it’s too slow and will appear to freeze until it’s finished indexing the file.
