If it seems to conform in a new seq the original file must be ok then.
From in the project panel try unlinking (without deleting) the file from the tape 21 clip.
Go to the file and rename it with an underscore “_” – and then relink it. hopefully the conforming will kick in again. and all will be ok.

Can you render or export from a new project with only color bars?

If there is a problem with that then your PPr needs to be reinstalled.
If all works as expected then there must be a corruption of one of the captured files. Recapturing it might be the way to go.Jon Barrie

If you start a new project, you can go to file>import… and select the project file you were working on. It will ask if you want the entire project or just a specific seq. Then it will bring all the media used in the seq your import. You can select multiple single seqs or one or just import the whole lot.
It sounds like there is an issue with that one clip at that one point. It may have a corrupted bit of indexing/conforming, from cutting it before it had completed the index/conform of it.
Try the import, just the seq you need, then let it re-index/conform before you try to render or export.

How full are the drives your project/s are on, it may not render because of space issues?
I’d let the conforming finish on your footage 1st, if you have captured 30 x 1hour clips that will take ages for the system to conform your clips. That may have filled up the area the renders are going to.
As a last resort, you can import the project into a new one and let it all conform 1st then export out.
Renders are only for playback and aren’t necessary for the exporting of a timeline. They are required for output to tape however.

Edit with it in its original format, don’t go back to HDV tape at any cost it won’t make it look better, but it will compress already compressed quality again to make it HDV format. Work with it’s original format. Use ‘scale to frame’ setting in preferences so when stuff comes into an HD timeline it will resize itself to fit it automatically. Then export at the end to test how to set your SD clips as they might need tweaks. But don’t go out to tape to ‘uprez’ the SD clips. Video8 BTW is a soft poor video to start from it can’t get better than it is – no footage can really.

Why not add the same numbered marker to the sync point of the clips add them to the timeline stacked over each other and select them right click and choose synchronise… then use the numbered marker to sync them. Done.

Edit the clips how you want over multiple timelines and then send each timeline to AME, once you use a preset, each timeline sent after that will hold the same AME settings so it should work out quite fine for you.

Did you deactivate the Adobe software and then reinstall?
If not, then moving your OS to another drvie with another hard coded disk code means the registry files might be corrupted as your new HDD is probably being seen like a new system. This may not be affecting other apps, but it doesn’t mean the registry for PPro isn’t corrupted.
I’d try to reinstall PPro 1st. (takes ages I know) if that doesn’t fix your issue, then you’ll need to deactivate CS4, run the cs4 cleaner from adobe, reboot and then reinstall CS4.
Messing with the OS or the drive its on is a risk to any apps that are activated based on your hardware config. that’s just how systems know a computer from another and prevent unpaid multiple activations.

Other…DV is usually a fine codec, but if you have the space Uncompressed is always the best.

Inside your export settings…what are the fields set to? Lower Upper Progressive?
