I think what you are wanting to do is called nesting.
basically you have all the clips you would have as a single (virtual) clip in one sequence. Then you would make a new sequence and add the first (virtual) sequence into the new one.
The other way around would be to edit, select the part you want as a virtual clip cut the selection, make a new sequence and name it so you know it’s your virtual clip, then past the clips you cut into this new seq. Then add the sequence into the original sequences’ edit by dragging and dropping from the project panel.

Hi Tom,
If the audio starts ok and gets progressively worse as time goes on, then I’d say there is a frame rate inconsistency. SO check your project settings, clip settings and then export settings and make sure you have the exact same frame rate for all.

Could the render scratch disk be full?
Check the scratch disk settings…Project>Project Settings>Scratch Disks…
Video Preview, might be set to ‘same as project’. May need to see how full the drive your project is.
Also could be the cache drive, usually the C:\Drive. If that’s nearly full again you can change it.
Edit>Preferences>Media… try the clean button for the media cache database. if it still doesn’t help, set the cache drive somewhere else.

If you are exporting a HDV timeline to DV then it needs to transcode down to DV. The render would be in HDV so that’s why it takes so long.
You can export the final timeline to DV, make a new timeline that is DV and then export that one to tape. Because it’s rendered out it will not need to render to DV (coz it is already DV).
Bottom line, you will always need to render something before going to tape.
If it’s rendered already you could try to have the playback set to the camera or tapedeck as the output and make sure the audio is going through it too. Make sure you have some colour bars or black about 10sec before your 1st frame of edited video, hit play on the computer, let the playback get to real time, which may be a couple of seconds (hence the colour bars) then hit record on the camera tapedeck. This won’t give you accurate timecode, but you get to export to tape quicker. It’s not the best solution, so do some tests. It might help.

From AME, Go to File>Add Premiere Pro Sequence and navigate to the project file, select it. Let it think for a bit as it is looking through the entire project to show you the available sequences. choose the correct sequence you want to export. It will be added to the timeline.
If there is a problem finding the sequence or the timeline you are after then that means there is a problem with the actual project, like it’s not avaiable or the timeline was deleted in the project.
If it works then maybe one of the folders was changed or moved and that’s why you got the error.

I find that sometimes if you ask premiere to export and you get impatient and try to quit the export or render the importer gets stuck. I usually fix the problem by opening the task manager and seeing the processes tab, right clicking on the importer file and ending the process. That usually cleans out the other processes that got it stuck in the first place like headless AE or PPro and Dynamic LInk. Once thats’ done, exporting again works properly.

I agree with Vince. If you can get the file to play in Soundbooth then export as Uncompressed AIF.
I have a feeling the original PCM is not truely Uncompressed and Premiere is having an issue with it. Are there other settings on the audio recorder you could experiment with and see if Premiere likes one of them so you don’t need to convert in the future. (not that is takes all that long).

I think the biggest problem being seen here is that the material from hollywood is never DV. It is uncompressed. DV does bad things to colour and pixel aspect ratio.
Try exporting your AE comp to Uncompressed and play that in fullscreen if your system can keep up (which it may not without expensive hardware).
I would say that a direct MPEG-2 from the Uncompressed media would look better than DV as they use different colour space, MPEG is better as holding colour (4:2:2) Vs DV which is (4:2:0)– JB

1. Are you certain your material is actually progressive?
2. Do you have frame blending switched on the clips? Try turning that off.
3. Is the timeline actually progressive?
4. Are the AME export settings with the TIFF export set to progressive?
