Dave, just checked the footage and the file was the right one, any suggestions? is this a normal thing to use footage in AE with photo jpeg compression?

Just did a render in AE and the footage plays choppy in FCP when using photo jpeg 1440×1080 compression from AE, I get lots of errors in final cut about drop frames.

So I took it out of HDV and transfered the file to DVCPro HD with “Compressor” then brought it back to AE and rendered it in the same project the render took about 17 min for :10 as the HDV took longer. I was reading that if you are using HDV footage in AE therre are alot of problems and might slow down renders because of intera frames.Just wondering for broadcast and blue ray is DVCPro HD a good formate to work with? would I be able to deliver a 1280×1080, how would i deliver this to a broadcaster? what kind of tape. Please help me with different work flows. I am doing a test now changed the HDV footage to photo jpeg and doing a test in AE CS3. I will let you know. I will render using photo jpeg and bring into FCP. Would you have a pdf of different work flows for different deliverables, this would help me out greatly. Thanks for your help so far.

So you use the deck for HDV palyback – firewire – Congergent Design Connect SI, – kona SDI -capture at prores and everything is fine. is this correct?

If I use the converter from firewire to SDI would I be able to recapture AJA Kona ProRes 422?

So I guess you use component out of your deck or DVI and not firewire. Would there be issues with the firewire? is there some kind of converter from firewire (camera) to (converter) to aja LHe to allow me to get the component or dvi into aja? What would your settings be in FCP using your method? thanks so much.

Are you saying I can capture pro res through the Kona card and not direct from firewire? I have the Kona LHe card would that work? should I be using component video or DVI to capture HDV to ProRes? what would be the best with the least errors? thanks.
