so i digi in fcp using dvcpro50 animorphic..set the sequence to animorphic and the my monitor to 16×9. the images look fat. the beta tape that i’m using was originally shot on HDV then a dubbing house sent it to me on beta sp with a label that says widescrean 16×9, they said that they did not do any aspect ratio convertions.
i also digi a clip just as a test in 4×3 and to me this looks better…should i be concerned of anything..would this be widescreen or 4×3???? if i edit in 4×3 and the footage looks good should i be aware of anyting when i master to tape in beta sp….please let me know..
i forget to mention when i play the footage from the beta sp deck…that’s where i would see the letterbox on my braodcast monitor. when i put the monitor in 16×9 mode the image squished. is this footage 16×9 or 4×3?

hi i tried this on after effects the aspect ratio looks good, i rendered in 16×9 and used comprssor to make it an mpeg 2 for dvd studio pro in 16×9, when i burn the dvd the image is squished, why is this happening, can you help me out …thnaks
