OK. I’ll try it. I don’t know AE very well at all so hopefully the export from AE is a simple process.

Nope. Didn’t work. Premiere just generates a full-screen alpha channel.

Hi there,

I tried doing the transforms numerically but unless I can grab one of the four corner handles, the numeric x/y value moves the entire layer. Is there a way to specify the numeric value controls a specific corner handle?

OK, the problem with that is the file was destined for the web. Is there a way to achieve more compression without sacrificing quality so greatly? I know I’m asking for the world but I have seen files from the web that weren’t huge yet looked great. This one was neither.

I output the squeezed file to a Quicktime movie at 768Kbps.

Hi Jeff…

I exported the movie as an uncompressed .avi file and then did the compression.

Hi Chris,

Firstly thanks for the reply. I’ve been struggling with this XDCam/EX1 thing for a few days now and I really appreciate the assistance. I know once I get past these few glitches I’ll be off to the races.

As you suggested I cleaned up all the extra tracks and then set the tracks to mono. That cleared up the channel 4/5 issue however I still have no audio on either track 1 or 2. I can’t even see a waveform on audio 2 which I know has nats sound on it.

I checked the mapping and it would appear that Premiere is mapped to my audio card.

Again, these same files work fine on my laptop. Codec issue?

I did notice, however, that while the settings appear to be the same on both systems, when I bring the clip into the sequence on the laptop, Premiere seems smart enough to know that there was no audio recorded on channel 1 and just shows channel 2 on the timeline. On my office system where I’m having the problem, using the exact same clip it shows two channels of audio, 1 & 2, but both seem to be empty.

Actually let me correct the above… I tried importing some footage this morning with known audio on channel 2 and it’s not there either.
