Might not be in CS6. I am on CC.
You can install the Avid codecs (free download from Avid. com) then export DNXHD QuickTime files. The presets won’t appear automatically after installing the codecs. You have to create your own.

You need to be in a 1080i 59.94 project, otherwise you will get a motion adapter.
If you are in a project that doesn’t match, You can still do speed changes, but not the regular way.
The non matching clip already has a speed change on it per se…so all you need to do is open the Motion Effect editor and change the speed right there in the timeline. -
[Shane Ross] “The quality out of MC isn’t great. I only do review exports directly from MC. Everything else is done with Adobe Media Encoder or Squeeze.
“Gotta go along with Shane on this. Never directly export out of Avid if you want something that looks good. It uses a very old and clunky QuickTime export module. Fine for quick and dirty stuff, but not good for final delivery, unless you are exporting DNXHD.
This does not apply to using the new AMA based exporting for file based delivery (AS01, AS11). That stuff is fine, and does not use Quicktime at all.

Adobe Media Encoder has presets for DNXHd MXF Op1a.
If you want Quicktime DNXHD, you can just download the Avid DNX codec from Avids’s website. Once installed, you can create your own preset for Quicktime DNXHD in Adobe Media Encoder.
Honestly, if this is for editing in Premiere, DNXHD MXF Op1a is just fine.

“64% more expensive for Avid users than for users of Scratch or Resolve. I’m not much of an fx user, and I stick to BCC as it seems to do what I need.”
Their pricing is totally messed up. Some of their plugins are really head and shoulders above Boris, as far as speed and quality, but not $2000 better, I wish they had smaller packages rather than making you buy the whole suite, too, Many of the filters are niche products, at best. Again, most systems I freelance on have Sapphire, despite the cost.

Auto patching can make maddening choices sometimes. I’ve gotten frustrated and turned it off, only to find it was so inconvenient, that I put it back on and just lived with the occasional oddities.

[Dave Edwards] “Secondly, the buttons to the left of the timeline seem to lose highlighting for no reason obvious to me when I’m editing.
“If you are referring to the track targeting buttons, then you can turn off Auto Patching in your preferences.

Film Effect, Various Glows and Lighting effects, Various Blurs, Vignette….S_Layer is good for adding composite modes, TV Damage, Flicker Remove.
Mostly quick stuff for transitions, or to give shots a look. There are many effects in the suite I never go near….just too complicated for the time I usually get to work on stuff. Some others, I only have a vague understanding of what they actually do. The documentation is a little less than clear.

I do a lot of freelance work in network and cable sports. It seems pretty standard on every system I have worked on. I don’t have it on my personal system, but I would rent it, if a job required it. For most jobs I do on my personal system, I can get by with BCC plugins. They are slower, and less intuitive, but I can make it work. They were far less expensive.
I think you may be having trouble selling it because, small to mid range houses may find it too expensive (look at how cheap plug ins are for other NLEs) and the networks and big budget facilities already have it.

Are you sure the frame rate of the video on the tape matches your project…
For example, a tape shot at 1080i/50 will play just fine on the deck, but if you are in a 1080i/59.94 project, it won’t capture.
