    Hello
I have a problem with Avid media composer
i record on minidv casette sony hd 1080i and now i want to load them with a sony dvcam.
The problem is that i can hear audio but i can’t see the video on the monitor.
When i push the esc but to stop the capturing, i can see both video and audio and are oky.
The problem is why i can’t see the video when is capturing? And sometimes the capturing is stoping for no reason.
Please if is someone knows what is the problem ?
    Thank you.
Cristina (sorry for my bad english writing)

The tape was shot as HDV…you need an HDV deck to play it back. A DVCAM or DV deck won’t do it, as they are SD only. You need specifically an HDV deck

Ah…so it is an HDV Deck.

Are you in an HD project?

Are you sure the frame rate of the video on the tape matches your project…

For example, a tape shot at 1080i/50 will play just fine on the deck, but if you are in a 1080i/59.94 project, it won’t capture.

you have to make sure the deck has been toggled to HDV from DVcam.

In the Capture Settings is the “Display incoming video in the client monitor” turned on?
