Open it and drag it into your Project window. It will become a tab.

You don’t need to re-import anything.

Just select all your clips and then select Consolidate/Transcode.

Select Transcode
Deselect Convert Video.
Select Convert Audio Format PCM

You won’t need to create a new project, just switch your project settings to a 4K or UHD setting.
Note that, unlike HD, many higher resolutions have a different aspect ratio than 16:9, so you may need to make FrameFlex adjustments, if the framing is no longer to your liking.

You don’t need to drag at all. Just use Extend Edit and the clip will trim magically to wherever your play head is.

You can try making two copies of the interview clip. Color correct it once at its brightest and once at its darkest. Then, layer them and key frame the opacity between the two.
You don’t have to make it as perfect as you think you do, as long as the lighting changes do not happen abruptly.

On the left side of the mix tool near the top there is a new disclosure triangle to display the track selector sidebar.
Is it possible you have no tracks selected to display?

This function is new in MC 8.5 and replaces the track groups button in earlier versions. This was probably done because MC 8.5 supports up to 64 tracks of audio, making the track group method kind of cumbersome. Would be nice if you could save track group views so you can work with it as before, since many people don’t use anywhere near 64 tracks of audio on a regular basis.

Uninstall your current version using the uninstaller on your hard drive. The current version will appear in your Application Manager if your support contract is in effect. If your support contract has lapsed, you are not entitled to any updates.

FYI….Converting 24 to 23.98 is an entirely different operation, best done in Cinema Tools (but can be done in Compressor). For this you want to do a conform (which is instantaneous and has zero quality loss). Doing a regular transcode will introduce frame blending.

I’ve had instances where it was in fact a corrupt audio dissolve rather than the actual audio file. Have you tried removing any transitions and then exporting? It’s likely your audio mixer will want to redo them himself anyway,

Also, I’m with Michael on this. Unless you are dealing with a 10 yr. old version of ProTools, an AAF should not be a problem and could actually be better in many scenarios. Most people just ask for OMF out of habit. Avid invented the OMF format and they have pretty much moved on from it long ago. That being said, OMF vs. AAF may not have anything to do with the issue you are having,
