How do I best convert clips in Compressor?
1 – I have footage in Compressor. I’m convert 30 fps to 24 fps. I custom set frame speed to 23.976 in Pro Res. Any other advice on settings?
2 – I’m using Compressor to do this. Would Cinema Tools be better? Or MPeg Streamclip or Handbrake perhaps? Just wanna get the best image possible.

IN the FRAME CONTROLS section of the Inspector in Compressor, set all the settings to BEST.

If a clip is 59.98 and i’m using it in a 24 fps sequence, it would behoove me to convert it the same way I am converting the 30 fps clips, correct?

it’s 23.98. I’m in the middle of converting the hundreds of gigs I edited with from 24 to 23.98. I’ll take one ciip and (re)connect it to the new version, and assuming everything looks ok, reconnect all the others.

FYI….Converting 24 to 23.98 is an entirely different operation, best done in Cinema Tools (but can be done in Compressor). For this you want to do a conform (which is instantaneous and has zero quality loss). Doing a regular transcode will introduce frame blending.
