Usually for stuff like this I use Scratch Removal, though it could also be done with Paint Effects, or the way you did it.
I am not going to give you the step by step. Just search for Scratch Removal in the Help Menu. It’s all there….everything you need to know, in great detail, better than I can describe here.

In FCP 6.x, there is a command to rename the media file to match the clip name or rename the clip to match the media file name…I think its in the Tools Menu (not in front of a system now).
That should do the trick.
I think FCP ignores the .mov extension because ALL video files actually have it (but its usually hidden by the OS)

It just means you don’t have stable serial control with this deck…it doesnt necessarily mean you have a hardware problem with your Kona.
Does it work properly with another deck? Have you tried a new serial cable? Uninstalling/reinstalling the Kona driver?

No you cannot.
If you dont have the Duck, you can import it into Pro Tool and export with Avid Compatibility mode.
FCP OMF files are intended only for digital audio workstations.

Try saving the webpages as PDF files (File/Print/Save as PDF). The quality may be better. Open in Photoshop and enter a large dpi (300) in the import dialog. This should result in a document over 2000 pixels wide.

No user profiles. Of course you can have many custom keyboard layouts, interface settings, and I/O preferences, but its not all centrally located in one User Profile.
You can set up individual users at the OS level in Mac OSX. This will result in each user having his own set of preferences for FCP when he logs in. Just be careful to put anything that needs to be shared among all users in the Shared folder.

FCP 6.x retains audio levels keyframing in the OMF export.
It does not retain any audio filters. (Avid OMF exports also do not retain filters…if they can’t make it work with their own format, Apple sure as hell ain’t gonna make it work)
For what its worth…most audio guys do not want your audio keyframing…they prefer to do it themselves..but its nice to have it if necessary.

You do realize the Air only has a single usb port and NO firewire at all. Don’t think it would work, even for your limited application.

Turn off realtime scopes (right click on the scope for the context menu) and you should be fine. You will still be able to read the scope when paused.
Your system is not fast enough for realtime scopes at this resolution.

“Sorry if you tried this already (I didnt read every post in the threads you cited), but a failed installation often is a sign of bad file permissions….have you repaired permissions on your hard drive using Disk Utility. Again, apologies, if you already tried that.
