Its okay if Cinema Tools sees it as 25fps. Conform it to 25fps anyway. It wont actually do anything other than fix whats gumming up the works in FCP.

What codec are they in?
If FCP is reporting the wrong frame rate in your bin, open the file in Cinema Tools and conform it to your proper frame rate. This only takes a second, and requires not re-encoding if it is in a codec that Cinema Tools understands.

Do not change the aspect ratio or any of the other normal DV-NTSC settings if you want to stay in the DV codec.
Go into the Sequence settings for your sequence (not the overall Sequence Settings, which affect new sequences). In the Video Processing tab, change the setting for Motion Filtering Quality to “Best”. You will need to re-render. This should improve the quality of any resizing or other effects in the Motion tab.
If they still are unsatisfactory for you, you will need to use a different codec.
Create a sequence using the preset for 8 bit Uncompressed or Pro Res. Copy and paste the contents of your current sequence into the new one. You will need to render the entire sequence. This will eliminate the degradation caused by the DV codec. Export a Quicktime and encode. This produce better quality results. It will not produce better results if going back to DV tape however, as everything will be re-encoded to the DV codec and return to looking like mush.

The 1080p Easy Setups are an additonal download from the AJA website. That might be your problem.

Load the group clip in the source monitor and create subclip(s), trimming out the unwanted areas where all cameras are not running simultaneously.

open in Quicktime Player. Check its properties. What is its frame rate?

You can map any menu command to a key in the Command Pallete using “Menu to Button”. I have a few menu commands mapped.

The Avid codecs will not play in real time w/o rendering in FCP, even if you make a “custom” preset.
