i hear you. but it is far, far. farless worse to not deliver just yet what is not ready for prime time. there are other manufacters who would have had an embarassing moment of shipping product that never worked– if they had shame! test it, test it, test it and then ship it! stability is the best feature–ask anyone missing this feature!

    anyhow, happy NAB everybody…

i am waiting for the control panel too, but it was announced after i got an IO folks–at last years NAB. if you bought the IO back in the day, you really can’t complain about a later control panel since it was never promised to you when you threw down the credit card or emptied that big jar of pennies!

  • you found that with this release or are you just whining about old stuff? i missed the point.

you can build good flash animations in combustion and bring those same layers with all of their quality into fcp or render a high quality right within combustion. but if you are looking to take flash animations made by another guy in flash, there will be some of the issues you have found.

definitely that is the good workflow. i just gave a warning that if you get an xraid that is not fully populated it willnot give peak performance that you see spec’ed everywhere and incase you were doing uncompressed 10 bit work, you don’t want an expensive and non-returnable surprise.

xserve has two raid controllers and needs all 14 drives to unlock the performance…this is sort of a secret “gotcha”. you will find plenty of info comparing 4 drive, 7 drive and 14 drives of performance on the xserve…

    sorry, to clarify!

xraid is nice–it is my understanding the entire array needs to be filled to handle UNCOMPRESSED 10 bit 1080i, however…did something change on that?
