I’m sorry to say but you answered your own question. “WIth trepidation, I told him that we need the data files to be on a separate drive from the OS and FCP. Correct?” Just make sure that when he raids the remaining 3 drives that he does it OS Extended, not journaled. So to recap… 1 system drive, 1 raid volume for your media. Good Luck.

Try deleting all of your old video render files on your capture scratch disk, then go ahead and re-render your timeline. Good Luck.

A FW800 tower with removable SATA drives would serve you well. They can come in 500gig to 2TB configurations. I just hapeen to be a reseller of such a beast, email me and I can give you further details. john@pixeladdicts.com

Try Trashing your Prefs,,,,,,if you haven’t already, do a search in the forum on “trashing your prefs” it’s a common thread.
