During an upgrade to Tiger I was installing FCP Studio and ran into some problems when I got to the DVDSP Templates installation disc and had to force quit the installer. I can’t seem to get past this disk! The templates install up to 99% then it stalls out and just hangs there forever! I want to try a fresh re-install of the whole Studio Pkg. If I just put in the first install disk and start the process from there will it overwrite the existing files (which seem to spread out all over the place) or just create new ones? Do I need to do some sort of un-install first, or can I just blaze on ahead? And any ideas about the DVDSP problem would be welcome.

    They will tend to overwrite.
But you probably have a damaged DVDSP disk.

Just walk away and let it finish the install, what you are experiencing is normal as long as you don’t get the beach ball. John

Yup, just tried that this morning. Walked away for a few hours, came back and it was all installed just fine. Thanks.
