Checkout Shutter Encoder. Runs on Intel and M1. It’s free and works on many OSs. I’ve used it for a few years.

I don’t think Resolve supports ProRes RAW natively. Maybe that has something to do with it. Or, it could be $$. While I believe BRAW is open source, ProRes RAW may be an expensive license.

That’d be great, but I don’t hold out much hope. I think Apple probably doesn’t want competition for ProRes RAW.

I, too, have wondered about this. What might help you is an FCP Workflow Extension by Color Finale called Color Finale Transcoder that lets you adjust exposure, white balance, ISO, etc. of BRAW files (and other formats such as ARRIRAW & CinemaDNG) and then import them (or segments of them) into FCP. It works with Intel & M1 Macs.

I just had a similar issue. I opened an old Library in 10.6. After relinking files, I still had red frames in my timeline. What I discovered was certain Effects that worked in FCP 10.5 didn’t work in 10.6. Maybe it was the OS.
Try opening the Inspector with a red clip selected, then one-by-one, uncheck the effects applied to that clip. Hopefully, one or more effects are out-of-date and you’ll be able to work with your Library. That worked for me. Of course, you’ll need a workaround for the effects that don’t work, if the developer doesn’t have an update.

I’m fairly certain the adaptor is the same for both Thunderbolt & Thunderbolt 2 to TB3/4. I’d stick to Apple adaptors. They’re reliable. Other adaptors I’ve seen are more expensive. Perhaps, you can daisy-chain the two drives if one has two TB ports. That way you’d only need one Apple adaptor.

Crumplepop Denoise works well. I’ve just started using Waves Clarity Vx Pro, which runs in real-time and does an amazing job separating voice from almost any noise. It uses neural networks to identify the voice, and then removes everything else.
Their standard version which currently sells for $29.95 (or, thereabouts) uses the exact same engine as Pro. Pro has additional features. Beside removing noise from voice, you can remove voice from noise. While not perfect, it can remove music under voice or vocals. In Pro, you can apply the reduction differently in four frequency bands. Checkout Waves’ site for many videos that go into how Clarity can be used.
Until now, I’ve used iZotope’s RX9 Advanced, more specifically, Dialog Isolate, which pretty much operates the same way as Clarity Vx, but it’s not a real-time plugin.

It’s been a long time since I set this up when I had a similar issue. I think you need to use the Audio MIDI Setup app in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. Open the app and look for your interface. Define the input & output. Also, you need to configure the speakers. There’s a button for that. Sorry I can’t be more specific. Hopefully this helps.
