I use MPEG Streamclip for some conversions, but I prefer Compressor when I’m converting various formats to one like ProRes. I always turn on Frame Controls and adjust to suit. I find Compressor does a superior job. And, since Compressor will use all 8 cores in my Mac this goes relatively fast.

I’ve used Compressor with Frame Controls on to do this with great success. Adjust the quality settings in Frame Controls according to what you’re doing – re-sizing, re-timing, etc.

My 1700 has blue. I’d be surprised if the “big brother” didn’t. Look in the menu structure in System Config > Function 1 or 2. You should see a choice for Blue Only in the list. When you select it, pushing the Function 1 or 2 button on the monitor will put it into Blue Only.
