    Hi all

I’ve been tasked with laying down a new audio track onto some .wmv files and re-uploading them to a client’s server. I have a distaste for .wmv’s but would like the record set straight for me. Put them through MPEGStreamclip to convert them to .mov’s with ProRes so that I can bring them into FCP and then I’ll probably export them back out as .mov with MPEG2.
Is there anything wrong with my workflow?

    Hi Nicholas,
    Nothing wrong with your workflow.
The perfect option would be 8b Uncompress, but due to the files size, Prores is the logic way to go.
    Cheers,

I’ve used Compressor with Frame Controls on to do this with great success. Adjust the quality settings in Frame Controls according to what you’re doing – re-sizing, re-timing, etc.
