and they will soon have interchangeable led rings for the TL-68 and TL-88 lights that feature 5600k, 3200k, spot and flood options. Simply unscrew one and replace with another.

You could crop the frame as needed and place it on a graphic background. That way you don’t have to blow up the image and lose quality (which is already taking a hit coming from mpg).

You’ve gotten very good suggestions so far. I’d summarize by suggesting you make the adr cues more muffled which to me is a characteristic of recording with lavs vs. boomed or studio mics, especially if the lavs were buried in or under clothing. You can do that by rolling off some higher frequencies. Also, build an outdoor ambiance with a mix of distinctive outside sounds. Then keep that track a little louder than usual in your final mix to “sell” the exterior. Your audience doesn’t know where the audio was recorded so give them plenty of audfio “hints” that it was outdoors.

David’s suggestion is great if your client is doing the Flash encoding. However, if your question is whether you can use Compressor to make a Flash file (flv) the answer is maybe. I’ve read posts that talk about encoding a h.264 file and simply changing the .mov to .flv. You need to set Compressor to use aac audio, a frame size designated by your client and a data rate specified by your client. I suggest you test this with your client. I’ve never tried this. We use Sorenson Media’s Squeeze to encode flvs using the On2 VP6 codec. https://www.sorensonmedia.com/products/?pageID=1&ppc=2
Flash Encoder in CS3 and 4 also can use the On2 VP6 codec.

Another possibility is to place a t/c generator over your timeline and play in realtime into a dvd recorder. There’s Andy’s Timecode Generator which is a true generator, not a filter.

I’m assuming you have a means of getting the P2 files from the P2 card to your drive. We use a Duel Adaptor with a MBP. I’ve never tried this, but I suppose you can copy the files from your drive to a freshly formatted P2 card. Just make sure all the files are put on the card in the same order they were originally. Let us know if that works.

Try searching the Cow for Voice Over tool and see what pops up. I’m sure you’ll get a bunch of hits. Just be careful. A lot of these devices work strangely with the Voice Over Tool. Make sure you can return the product. If you have a local rerseller, maybe they’ll lend you a unit to test.

Years ago (pre-Tiger) we tried an Edirol UA-25 and had problems. As I recall it intermittently dropped out audio. Shortly thereafter we installed Pro Tools and didn’t need the VO Tool anymore.

I’ve read of other apps that can also do this, but don’t recall the names. Try searching mxf on the Cow to find them.

How are you monitoring the video? You can’t judge playback by watching FCP’s canvas. You have to use an external monitor using a capture card or other i/o device. It helps when posting to list your setup including OS, FCP version, computer, etc. so other folks can best help you out.

It’s been a while since I used the VO Tool. I’m not clear if you want to simultaneously record video while also recording VO audio. If so, you can’t do that. It works by letting you view already captured video and recording VO to it. You mentioned you chose DV Audio in the Source pull-down. You didn’t mention your choice for Input. There are two choices there: Line In and Digital. Try switching from the existing choice to the other and see if it works.
