It’s tough not being able to test it out. My first inclination is to use H.264. Maybe you can test a mini at an Apple Store. Makeup a few short H.264 files at different data rates and see how they play. And I’d get the data rate up to 6Mbps. That is a similar data rate to one that would look good on a DVD.

Is there a player of some kind, or do they simply play full-screen QTs (something else?) from the MacMini? More info is needed to make a recommendation.

You can nurn a Blu-ray using one of Toast’s preset menus with starting (I believe) with v9. Each menu has spaces for 6 videos.

I have an associate who uses GoToMyPC with his Avid. The audio is ng, but he can make very basic editd, edit graphics, & export, encode and load to his ftp site.

Checkout the AJA IO-HD and the Matrox MXO2. I’m not familiar with all the Blackmagic products, but they may have an external box, too.

Rather than Send to Compressor, have you tried exporting a ref or self-contained QT and importing that into Compressor?
