BWF to FCP, and timecode shenanigans
Hello everyone!
Do I absolutely have to buy BWF2XML converter to work with BWF format in final cut? I’ve tried importing wave files from Edirol R-4 Pro recorder and FCP shows the timecode in Media Start and Media End fields. Although, after trying to place a clip with start timecode of 14:35:34:20 on a sequence, FCP warned me that it’s impossible to place any media with TC hours value over 12 or 6 hours.
Question: what timecode on portable recorders and digital camcorders (rec-run or Time-of-day) do professionals use in the industry? If it’s Time-of-day (which seems more reasonable to me), what time do they set instead of those 14 hours, 35 minutes?
Thank you!
P.S.
Already downloaded Sebsky tools – going to try it tomorrow. If there is no free BWF to XML converter, I might write one for my third year project in uni 😉
