Also check to see if someone’s recording the board sound. Then you could get better sound (hopefully) to match to your picture. You may have sync issues, but there are ways of cutting around those.

Export a QT using Current Settings. Take that into Compressor and use a High-Quality DVD preset to encode. Then use DVD Studio Pro to make your DVD using the files made by Compressor. Search the Cow for the specifics how to do this. I’m afraid you’re stuck with the rendering time. The only way to decrease that is get a more powerful Mac and for some situations a more powerful graphics card.

If you edited a portion of a long clip to the timeline and renamed it Whoosh, all clips derived from that longer clip would also be renamed, unless you made Whoosh an Independent Clip.

There’s not much you can do. The audio is distorted. In the future test you audio workflow during a rehearsal. Unless you listen to playback from your camera or deck, you may miss distortion. The audio may sound fine monitoring your mixer, but the camera could be distorting the sound and you wouldn’t know.

Don’t use ProResHQ. It’s only intended for 2k and above resolutions. In FCP in a DV/DVC Pro timeline do your edit. Then Export a ProRes or uncompressed Quicktime. Do not use Using QT Conversion. Import that into AE and do your work. Then export a ProRes or uncompressed QT from AE. If you need to bring this into FCP set your timeline to match your exported AE movie.
